Yes, a minimum rental amount of 50€ is necessary in order to rent with us. Since our delivery service covers a wide area that encompasses Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje, Las Americas; La Caleta, Playa Paraiso and Callao Salvaje, we need to cover the increasing gas price. That's why we require a minimum rental amount of 50€ that can easily be reached by renting multiple days or multiple bikes.
While we strongly recommend and support the private use of bicycles at all ages, our strict liability insurance policy only covers cyclists betweenm 18 and 70 years old. This means that, due to legal requirements, we can only rent bikes or cycling related products to customers within these age limits. We much appreciate your understandig regarding this matter.

At Bike Rental Tenerife we only hire electric bikes equipped with Bosch eBikes systems. These bikes offer pedal assistance up to 25 Km/h. While motor assistance cuts out at these speeds due to EU regulations, you can pedal faster on flat ground around like Los Cristianos and Las America or even faster downhilling mount Teide.
Although it is not mandatory, we strongly recommend booking your bike in advance, especially during the high winter season. This ensures availability on the size and model of the bike you prefer. Renting a bike in Tenerife in advance is the best way to make sure that you will enjoy your vacation on two wheels.
Yes, 50€ deposit for non-electric bikes and 100€ deposit for electric bikes, always in cash, is required for the cycle hire. This deposit will be returned when we collect the bike from your hotel or villa in the south of Tenerife.
While the use of helmets is not mandatory in the urban areas of Tenerife south like Costa Adeje, Las Americas, Los Cristianos, La Caleta, Playa Paraiso or Callao Salvaje, it certainly is mandatory on the main roads like those towards Teide. We do have used complimentaty helmets available when renting bikes with us. Also brand new helmets are available for sale. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own.
While we do offer both options, hiring an electric bike over a traditional cycle in Tenerife is strongly advisable. This is due to the wild orography of the Island. Keep in mind that we stand on Spain's highest peak, the vulcano Teide. So, unless your Idea is just cruising along Los Cristianos and Las Americas promenade, any exploration inland or towards Costa Adeje, Playa Paraiso or Callao Salvaje, requires an extra effort. That can easily be handeled by the powerful engines of our Bosch electric bikes. Remember that you are here on holidays, not to soffer!
In order to properly fill the bike rental agreement, we need an unexpired Picture ID for EU citizens or a valid passport for non-EU citizens. This ID/Passport is inmediately returned to its owner as soon as the bike rental agreement is filled and signed by both parties. We do not keep it at any time.
